The upper part of the Ramp is adorned by four sculptures on either side showing ancient Greek and Roman historians and is to remind politicians of their responsibility to history.

The following personalities are represented (from left to right):the Greek historians Thucydides, Polybius, Xenophon, Herodotus and the Romans Julius Caesar, Tacitus, Livy and Sallust.
