The Epstein family is remembered not only in memorials carved in stone, such as the palace on Ringstrasse, the villa at Baden, the commemorative plaque with Gustav Ritter von Epstein's name on it in the Musikverein building, and the tombstones at the Währing Jewish Cemetery and the Vienna Central Cemetery.

The Epsteins also live on in the memory of the family of Professor Emil Schultheisz, Gustav Ritter von Epstein's great grandson, in Budapest. Drawing on his personal memories of his grandmother Margarethe von Epstein, Professor Schultheisz can still recall details that make the destiny of the Epstein family come to life.
