Fabio Massimo Castaldo

Fabio Massimo Castaldo is Vice-President of the European Parliament.

Elected in 2014, he represents the Movimento 5 Stelle Movement (M5S), which is belonging to the Europe of Freedom and Direct Democracy Group (EFDD).

He has a double degree in Italian and French law, from the Tor Vergata University of Roma and Paris-Est University. He was elected by the EFDD group to be its coordinator of two committees: the Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET) and the Committee on Constitutional Affairs (AFCO). He’s Substitute of the Subcommittee on Security and Defence. He's also the EFDD coordinator.

As author or shadow, he actively contributes towards the definition EU's foreign and security policy.

Moreover, he is also the Vice-President of the West-Sahara Intergroup, Vice-President of the Anti-Racism and Diversity Intergroup (ARDI) and Vice-President of LGBTI Intergroup.

He participated in numerous electoral observation missions, in particular in Tunisia, Moldova and Nigeria.

He is also the Lead Member of the European Parliament for the Young Political Leaders Programme.
