Izabela Chencian

Born on December 22nd 1983 in Satu Mare, Izabela Chencian graduated in economics, business administration at Babeș-Bolyai, in Cluj Napoca, and specialized within the same university with a master in business administration. Her initial professional approach was in foreign languages, with a scholarship in Italy, at „Universita degli studi di Salerno”, that summed up to several certificates of linguistic competencies, in English, Italian and French. She attended several French programmes for professional development, referring to diplomatic and international public society.

Later, Ms Chencian’s education turned toward law school, with a second degree in Juridical and Administrative Sciences in Bucharest. In 2010 she joined the Romanian Senate’s parliamentary staff within the permanent Committee for Human Rights, Cults and Minorities. In 2015, she became team activity coordinator in the Senate’s Social-Democratic Party Group. Since 2018, Ms Chencian has been running the Secretary General Office of the Senate, being directly and actively involved in the preparations of the Romanian Presidency of the EU Council. Ms Chencian is well known and appreciated for her professionalism and experience in parliamentary aspects and synergies.
Ms Chencian speaks fluently English, Italian and French.
