Professor at the Danube University Krems
Gottfried Haber (born 3 December 1972) is a Professor at the Danube University Krems. He is responsible for the departments "Management in Health Care" and "Economic and Financial Policy".
Haber studied economics and business administration. His career is marked by long-term activities in the fields of economic policy, economics, regional economy, banking and financial markets as well as health economics and health care management at and as a consultant for various institutions (including the Federal Pedagogical Academy, Vienna University of Economics, UNIDO, Government of the Republic of Slovenia, Federal Chancellery, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Economics, Ministry of the Interior, EU, World Bank, Ludwig Boltzmann Institute, OeNB, Chamber of Commerce). 2004-2013 Haber was the President of the METIS Institute for Economic and Political Research. He is the initiator and President of Forum Velden and a member of various supervisory boards (HYPO NOE Group Bank, HYPO NOE Landesbank, EBG Medaustron GmbH; former mandates in Entwicklungsagentur Kärnten, Kärntner Tourismusholding and Kärntner Krankenanstaltenbetriebsgesellschaft KABEG). 2009-2015 his was the Chairman of the Economic Policy Advisory Board of Carinthia.
Haber has been a member of the Development Policy Advisory Board since 2014, a member of the General Council of the OeNB and Vice-Chairman of the Fiscal Council since 2013, and a member of the Board of Transparency International Austrian Chapter (TI-AC) since 2016.
