Conferences

The EU and its institutions regularly hold conferences to discuss and exchange information on important topics.

Contacts among parliaments

As the Treaty of Lisbon has given national parliaments more opportunities to participate, relations have intensified between national parliaments, the EP, and the European Commission. The meetings of interparliamentary bodies have become an important forum for exchange and dialogue. Austrian Members of the National Council and the Federal Council also regularly participate in parliamentary conferences at the EU level.

Interparliamentary meetings enable delegates from national parliaments to make statements and to report on the positions of their Chambers as well as to deal with arguments from other parliaments and to establish important contacts.

Information about these meetings is also available at Conferences - IPEX.eu.
