Architecture Tour of the Palais Epstein

Over the last 150 years, this former residence and office building served, among others, as the Soviet City Commandant's Office and as the headquarters of Vienna’s City Schools Council. The Palais was originally commissioned by a wealthy and art loving banker family. Unlike many other private residences located on the Ringstrasse, the Palais Epstein maintained most of its original appearance and interior to this day. During the tour, visitors experience the bel-etage with its reception room and the illustrious ballroom. Since 2005, the building is utilised by the nearby Parliament.

The tours of the Palais Epstein are public. They are available in German (starting at 10.30am and 12.30pm CET) and English (starting at 11.30am and 1.30pm CET).
