Content

The Mensch Award, presented by the Mensch International Foundation, was established in 2002 by Steve A. Geiger with the goal to develop a tolerant social order of values which respects minority rights and freedom of speech and worship. The yiddish word "Mensch" describes a person who is righteous, has character, is trustworthy and mindful. The Mensch Award 2023 was given to Othmar Scheider, Simon Wiesenthal (posthumously), Leon Zelman (posthumously) and the 11th Armored Division of the US Army of 1945.
