Parliament in the Light of Human Rights

December 10, 2023 is the 75th anniversary of the signing of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights. To mark the occasion, Parliament is setting priorities highlighting the importance of human rights to democracy.

On selected days between November 8, 2023 and January 28, 2024, Austrian artist Victoria Coeln will illuminate the Parliament's facade in the "Light of Human Rights."

Changed opening hours in December and January

Please note that Parliament is closed on public holidays as well as on 23.12.2023 and 30.12.2023. From 27 — 29.12.2023 and 2 — 5.1.2024, Parliament will be open from 9am to 5pm.

The parliament's public visibility and open-door approach is reflected in a wide variety of events covering a broad range of topics such as academic lectures, presentations, national and international conferences, cultural events in cooperation with renowned Viennese, Austrian and international festivals. Visitors are required to register for events in advance.
