Attending events at the Austrian Parliament: what you need to know

• How do I register for an event?

  On the Events page is a list of upcoming events. By clicking on the button, you get access to further information and to the registration page (where registration is required).

• Are all events at the Parliament free of charge?

  Yes, you can attend all events taking place at the Austrian Parliament free of charge.

• What do I need to access the Parliament building?

  If you have registered for an event, no additional registration to access the Parliament building is required. Following your registration, you will be sent a personalised QR code that you need to show upon entering the building (as a printout or on your smartphone). Please take an official photo ID with you. Depending on the reason for their visit, visitors must undergo security screening upon entering the Parliament building (ID check, metal detectors and X-ray scanners for people and objects).

• How much time should I allow for an event?

  Admission usually starts one hour before the event. The duration of the event depends on the programme. Kindly note that, in line with the Parliament’s Internal Rules, all coats must be checked.

• Am I allowed to take pictures during an event?

  For most events, certain seats are assigned to specific groups of attendees in accordance with protocol. All other guests are free to choose their seats.

• Can I still attend if I am late for the event?

  Yes, you can. However, please note that admission is only possible until 15 minutes after the event has started. We regret that you will not be admitted should you arrive after that.

• Can I move around freely in the Parliament building after the event?

  If you attend an event at the Austrian Parliament, you may also visit the restaurant "Das Kelsen”, the visitors centre, the library and the library café. If you would like to find out more about the Parliament, we would be delighted to welcome you to one of our guided tours.
