Awarding of the 2022 Simon Wiesenthal Prize
Content
In the second year of its existence, the Simon Wiesenthal Prize again has gained strong national and international interest. Over 260 submissions from more than 30 countries around the world were received, including entries from national and European projects alongside nominations from Israel, the United States, Argentina, Peru and South Africa – a powerful global sign of the fight against antisemitism and of efforts to raise awareness of the Holocaust. The awarding of the annual Simon Wiesenthal Prize, worth EUR 30,000, is managed by the National Fund of the Republic of Austria for Victims of National Socialism, which is affiliated with the Austrian Parliament. The Prize was established in honour of Simon Wiesenthal and his crucial contribution towards the worldwide endeavour to uncover and prosecute Nazi crimes.
