Report on impact orientation 2023
In the Federal Budget, departments and supreme bodies define the (social) impacts they aim to achieve with their budget. The assessment of the achievement of objectives is carried out internally by the departments, and the cross-departmental impact controlling body informs the National Council about these evaluations annually in a report.
The report on impact orientation 2023 contains the evaluation results of 119 impact objectives and 398 key indicators, as well as the 259 operationalized global budget measures. The results show that the effects of the COVID‑19 pandemic are gradually receding and that, despite new challenges such as inflation and the economic recession, overall performance was better in 2023 than in 2022. Despite the generally-positive assessment, the Budget Office subjected the cross-cutting issues of gender equality, climate and the environment, as well as the economy, location, and labor, to an in-depth analysis and identified potential for further developing the impact-orientation system.
